Yoga for Sight is an annual global gathering of yogis and yoginis focused on raising awareness about the fact that 80% of blindness and low-vision can be prevented or cured.
2016 will be the third year of this exciting happening, which last year grew to include over 60 yoga studios in 20 US states and Australia. This will be the first year that Firefly is participating.
Please join us for a 75 minute gentle and beginner friendly yoga class where the participants will wear blindfolds to simulate blindness in support of the Yoga for Sight project. This class is donation only and participants can donate ahead of time using the Donate Now button below or you can bring cash or check to the event. Since space is limited we ask that you please register online using our MindBody software or call the studio 517-974-9642 to get added to the list. If you donate using the button below we still need to add you to the roster so make sure you signup online or call.
The heat will be turned down for this event to 80 degrees. Please wear something comfortable and bring a mat if you have one and water. The studio has some mats available for use, but the supply is limited.
For more information about the Seva Foundation please visit their website at www.seva.org. Yoga for Sight grew out of their strong relationship with the yoga and meditation community. These annual international events have proven to be a wonderful way for the yoga community to join together to support Seva’s programs. Thanks to the generosity and compassion of Yoga for Sight participants, Seva is able to provide vital sight-saving eye care to over one million people in need each year.
